GOVERNMENT POSITION DISAPPOINTED BUT WILL FACE SITUATION DAIL WILL MEET TO SCHEDULE* (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, June 14. The Times states that the Free State Ministers, while disappointed with the results of the elections, will face the situation without alarm. Undoubtedly the new Dail will meet according to plan on June 23 and arrangements are being made for ensuring a safe constitutional majority for Mr Cosgrove’s Government. —Times Cable. FINAL RESULT OF PARTIES. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, June 14. The Irish Free State final election results, apart from and Dublin Universities is as follows: Government 45 De Valeraites 44 Labour 22 Independents 12 Farmers . 11 National League 8 Sinn Fein . .. 5 —A. and N.Z. BIG MAJORITY FOR CONSTITUTIONALISM. London, June 14. The Irish voting to date shows that of the total poll 703,738 votes were cast for the Constitutional parties and 318,586 for the anti-treaty party.—A. and N.Z. REPUBLICANS WILL CLAIM THEIR SEATS. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, June 15. De Valera states that the Republicans will claim their seats. The people would not tolerate their being barred by the imposition of a penal oath.—A. and N.Z. POSSIBILITY OF DIFFICULT SITUATION. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, June 15. The Daily Telegraph says that if the Republicans dispute the fact that they fought the elections against the oath, and decide to take it on the pretext that that was the best way to get rid of it, a difficult situation will be created, as Mr. Cosgrove will be driven to seek an effective coalition. It is hoped, therefore, for the sake of Free State peace that the Republicans will continue in a state of desperate intransigence, and by still refusing to enter the Dail, make it easier for Mr Cosgrove to pursue his courageous task. —A. and N.Z.
