BED CROSS
MONTHLY MEETING OF SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the Invercargill Red Cross Society was held in the rooms, Tay street, on Friday, June 10, there being present —Mrs W. P. Smith (in the chair), and Mesdames J. G. Petrie. H. Acton, A. Hanan, A. Hamilton, R. Henderson and Nurse Kerse. Reports of the activities of Sister Kirkpatrick (Otago District), Sister Lewis (Wellington District) and Nurse Corkill (Taranaki District) were received for the month of April, 1927. Headquarters forwarded copies of minutes covering the conference held with the Deputy Director-General of Health, and the sub-committee, set up by the Wellington Centre Executive, to discuss the Deputy Director-General's proposals in reference to the utilisation of the services of the Red Cross Nurse in the Taranaki District. This matter to be discussed at the meeting of the New Zealand Executive to be held in Wellington on July 8. Mrs W. P. Smith and Mrs A. Hanan reported having visited the hospital, there being five soldier patients. Mrs A. Hamilton reported having visited the sanatorium, there being two soldier patients. Miss A. E. McNaughton reported having visited the hospital weekly, there being one soldier patient. Eighteen applications ' for underclothing were received, the same being granted. Nine letters of thanks were received. Accounts amounting to £73 10/4 were passed for payment.
