CRUTCHING SALE

SOUND TONE AT WELLINGTON. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 14. The first crutching sale of the season was held to-day when a total of about 2200 bales was offered to a good number of buyers. Competition was exceedingly keen. The range of prices was:— Merino crutchings, IOAd to llfd; halfbred, 74d to HAd; pieces and bellies, 5Jd to 12d; hocks and stained pieces, 3|d to 7d; crutchings, superior cross-bred, lOd to Hid; medium, good, 8d to lOd; crutchings, seedy and inferior, 44d to 84d; lambs, 94d to 14id; dead wool, 7jd to 154 d.
