WORKING MEN’S CHILDREN.

To the Editor. Sir, —In your issue of June 10 Mr A. W. Jones is reported to have said at a meeting of the Technical Board that “he would have no hesitation in commending the Technical College to any working man to send his children to.” Mr Jones, who is a new member to the board, might be good enough to inform your readers why he particularly sets out the Technical College as a place for working men’s children. I am inclined to believe he must not be aware of the High Schools in our town and also the fact that these schools have turned out many successful men and women who were the children of parents who took their coats off and were not ashamed to produce something with their hands. Mr Jones’s remarks have a distinctly snobbish tone and this is the reason I ask space for this letter.—l am, etc., A WORKER.
