MARQUISATE OF ELY
CONTROVERSY WITH CLAIMANT. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, June 10. Following on a piquant controversy in the form of Newspaper interviews, the Marquis of Ely says that he is prepared to give £lOOO to charity if Lord Augustus Loftus, who says he is the son of the fourth Marquis, can substantiate his claims. Lord Augustus had previously stated that he was not interested in titles, being content with his present position in life.—A. and N.Z.
