DRUIDS LODGE
THE GORE SOCIETY. HALF YEARLY MEETING. The half yearly meeting of the Gore Druids Lodge was held on Friday evening. Among the visitors were the G.P., Bro. A. Sherborne, P.A. Bro. W. McLeod, 8.M., members of Acorn Lodge, Invercargill, Pride of Mataura and Enterprise Lodge, Dunedin, and they were given a hearty welcome. The chief business of the evening was the receiving and adoption of the halfyearly balance sheet. The lodge was congratulated on the membership and the general financial position. The balance sheet showed that the receipts for the half-year were as follow: Cash in bank, £lO7 11/1; initiations, contributions etc., £336 6/11; maternity bonuses, £42; special levies, £2O 0/6; special funeral fund, £57 13/1; sundries, £6O 7/2; total, £566 18/9. Expenditure: Sick and funeral fund, £157 17/2; G.L. fees, £l2 10/2; surgeons and chemist, £144 9/9; special funeral fund, £B6 3/11; maternity benefits, £42; sundries, £46 5/10; balance, £lO7 11/5; total, £566 18/9. The installation of officers was then impressively carried out by the D.P. Bro. J. P. Fraser. The officers for the coming term are: A.D., Bro. W. Crawford; V.A., Bro. T. James; secretary. Bro. T. J. Sherborne; treasurer, Bro. A. Kroning; 1.G., Bro. J. Frame; 0.G., Bro. H. Briggs; A.D.B.S, Bros. Hodgson and Tretheway; V.A.8.5., Bros. H. Graham and Hanke; M.C., Bro. C. McMath; 1.P.A., Bro. C. McDowell. The District President then presented Bro. R. Adams with his Past Arch diploma, and in doing so complimented him on his work during his term of office. The Gore members of the R.A. Chapter then held a short meeting, after which the company adjourned to Milne's Tea Rooms.
