MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the executive was held at the Technical College on Friday last. Mr R. S. Mclnnes was in the chair. There were also present Mrs W. Johnston (Primary Association), Miss R. A. White (secretary), and representatives from Technical College, Girls’ High School, Collegiate, Rata, Pirates, Bluff and Convent clubs. Apologies for absence were received from St. Peter’s Bible Class Club and Makarewa Club. The secretary acknowledged receipt of a letter from the Rugby Football Union granting the use of Rugby Park on June 15; also a letter from the Primary Basketball Association intimating that Mrs Johnston had been elected their representative on the Ladies’ Association.—Received. It was decided that return matches with the Bluff be played at Bluff either on Wednesdays or on Saturdays, whichever day suited. A letter was received from the Otago Basketball Association inviting Southland to send up a representative team to play a match at a date suitable to the latter association. It was decided that the invitation be accepted and that the match be played on a Saturday in July, the fixing of exact date to be left over till next meeting. The date for holding the Street Day was altered to July 2, to give more time for adequate arrangements. It was agreed that three stalls be set up, and allotted as follows: (1) In charge of Pirates, St. Peter’s Bible Class, and Bluff clubs; (2) Rata, Collegiate, ’Kiwi clubs; (3) Girls’ High School, Technical College, St. John’s School and St, Catherine’s Convent. In connection with the selection of a representative team, it was proposed by Mrs Johnston, seconded by Miss Hamilton, that there be a sole selector, Mrs Mclnnes, and that a list of two teams be fully submitted to a meeting of referees.—Carried. The Dance Committee discussed various matters in connection with the forthcoming dance. The schools will not participate in this dance, but may, if they wish, raise funds in any way suitable to themselves. The next meeting was fixed for Friday, June 24.
