KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 10. Cecil Banks, 24, residing at Papatoetoe, while assisting a motorist to crank a car that stopped in the middle of the road, was knocked down by another car and badly hurt. He was taken to the hospital with injuries to the chest, fractured ribs, and a fractured ankle. FRACTURED SKULL. Wellington, June 10. Arthur Albert Smith, aged 43, residing at Island Bay, an employee of the City Council, died at the public hospital as a result of a fracture of the skull due to a fall from a telegraph pole. He leaves a widow and four children. FALL FROM TRAM CAR. Wellington, June 10. As the result of falling off a tram in Upper Willis street, Walter Allen, a single man, aged 25, residing at 67 Abel Smith street, was admitted to the hospital at 7.15 p.m. to-night suffering from severe injuries to the head. His condition is not serious. MOTOR CYCLE COLLISION PROVES FATAL. Waipawa, June 10. Two motor cyclists, Albert Ernest Condliffe and James Simmons, met in a head-on collision at a corner near Tamuru this morning, the former suffering injuries from which he died almost immediately. Simmons’ leg was fractured, and he suffered facial injuries. Deceased was married, but had no family.
