FRENCH COAL EMBARGO
BRITISH MINE-OWNERS CONCERNED. (Rec. 7.0 p.m.) Paris, June 10. The coal embargo after a brief postponement, comes into operation to-day. Lord Crewe, as a last effort, consulted M. Briand, who said that the Government’s action was imperative as the pitheads were choked with coal and unrestricted importation would mean increased unemployment among French miners. He promised to grant British exporters license* to the fullest extent possible.—A. and N.Z
