Because I want as much as possible included, I do not want to take up space with criticism which can only be favourable this ■ time. But I must say I was especially pleased with the work of the three Cousins placed first in the junior section. Also with Cousin Clare Hunter’s and Cousin Mabel Wright’s stories, which show very marked improvement. I am well pleased, my dears. —Cousin Betty. 120th COMPETITION (a) Senior Club. —Compare prose-writing with verse-making, coming to a definite conclusion about which you prefer to use as a vehicle for your own thoughts. Quote examples, if necessary. (b) Story, for Cousins under 16—entitled, ‘The Witch Who Was Not All Black.”
