KEEN DEMAND FOR GOOD QUALITIES. (Rec. 9 p.m.) Calcutta, June 9. At the opening of the tea sales, there was a keen demand for all good qualities. Poor, medium and common sorts were weak and there was poor support, a large proportion being withdrawn. Average prices were: —Common Pekoe Souchong, ten annas eleven pice; common Broken Pekoe Souchong, eleven annas to eleven annas six pice. Even black leaf Pekoe realised twelve annas to twelve annas six pice.—A. and N.Z.
