BRITAIN’S EXPENDITURE. DEATH RATE EXTRAORDINARILY LOW. (Rec. 9 p.m.) London, June 8. Summing up the position of war pensioners to the end of March, it is disclosed that Britain spent £725,000,000 on pensions. There were 1,665,000 beneficiaries including 46,000 living overseas. There are still 29,000 officers and men under treatment. The death rate of disabled pensioners was extraordinarily low, only 154 per 1000.—A. and N.Z.
