Should Free coupons be offered to smokers of Edgeworth tobacco? A smoker made this suggestion to the manufacturer whose reply stating that it has never been their policy to give premiums or gifts with Edgeworth but to put the value of such thing in the quality of their products. “Premiums” they add, “cost money and in offering anything of this kind, you can no doubt appreciate that the manufacturer must take this into consideration in making up his product or in the price. The manufacturer must either charge a little more to cover the cost of the premium or reduce the quality of his product, so we have always endeavoured to give the consumer the very best that could be made for the money and we never offer prem- ; iums.”—(Advt.)
