BIRCHWOOD HUNT

SUCCESSFUL MEET AT EASTERN BUSH The fourth meet of the season was held at Eastern Bush on Wednesday, Bth inst., in ideal weather. In spite of reports being circulated of the cancellation of the fixture, some 20 followers participated, and a fair number of spectators were present. Two runs were held during the afternoon, and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the good old sport of hunting. With the kind permission of Messrs Moir and McGibbon Bros., the trail was laid through their properties, which afforded splendid hunting country. After the two runs Mrs McGibbon kindly provided afternoon tea, which was appreciated by all present. The Master (Mr H. O. Williams) returned thanks to the property owners (Messrs Moir and McGibbon Bros.), the committee who prepared the country (Messrs McGibbon Bros., J. Moir, Morgan, O’Brien and A. Ballantyne), Mrs McGibbon for providing the refreshments, and her willing assistants (Mrs Moir, Misses O’Brien, Ballantyne and Moir). He also remarked that the assistance rendered by the abovementioned people was splendid and the Hunt Club was greatly indebted to them for their willing generosity and kindness. Mr Williams then called for three hearty cheers for those who had assisted in making the necessary arrangements, these being heartily given. The followers were: The master (Mr H. O. Williams) on Silvery, the huntsman (Mr Martin O’Brien) on Lady Betty, the whij (Mr J. Langford) on Lady Chicken, Messrs Magnus Mouat on Marshal Law, Malcolm Mouat on Snowfall, W. J.
