DRUNKEN MOTORIST

LICENSE CANCELLED. SUBSTANTIAL FINE IMPOSED. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, May 7. The Magistrate to-day fined Donald Williamson Smith, aged 30, a farmer of Cheviot, £25 for driving a car in Cathedral Square while intoxicated, while his license was cancelled for two years. The evidence showed that Smith had no lights on his car and that he collided with a tram. He had been previously convicted.
