GORE FIRE BRIGADE
MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Gore Fire Brigade on Tuesday night was attended by a full muster of members, Captain F. Wallis presiding. The secretary, U.F.8.A., Auckland, wrote enclosing new rules passed at the recent conference at Gisborne, and other matters dealt with at that centre.—Received. The report of the delegate to the conference at Gisborne was laid on the table, a keen discussion ensuing on the various remits dealt with. The Dunedin City, Alexandra and Cromwell brigades wrote thanking the Gore brigadesmen for the hospitality extended to them at the recent demonstration, and congratulating the Gore committee on the successful running of the function.---Received. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr W. Hyne for an enlarged grouped photograph of the various teams engaged at the demonstration at Gore. The members of the brigade decided to entertain the ladies’ committee to a progressive euchre tournament at Milne’s Tea Rooms or) Tuesday evening. The secretary was instructed to write the Gore Brass Band thanking it for its assistance at the demonstration, and to enclose a donation of £2 2/- towards the band’s funds. The secretary reported that the Borough Council’s subsidy had been received, and the brigade’s funds were now in a very healthy state. It was decided to resuscitate the annual dance held by the Gore firemen, and a subcommittee was set up to make arrangements for the function towards the end of this month.
