EX-HOLLYWOOD DIRECTOR IN COURT,

Auckland, February 28,

John Francis Holcombe, aged twenty-six, who described himself as a motion picture director from Hollywood, appeared in the Police Court for sentence on charges of obtaining £3O by issuing three valueless cheques, and was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each charge (concurrent), and two months for breach of probation granted at Wellington last year on false pre tences charges.

The case had been adjourned from time to time, accused hoping for assistance from the United States in making restitution.
