VESSEL DAMAGED
SUBMERGED OBJECT STRUCK
MINOR REPAIRS NECESSARY

Christchurch, February 28,
While steaming against a southerly gale at mid-day on Sunday the small steamer Cygnet en route from Kaikoura to Lyttelton grazed a submerged object off Motunau Island.
The vessel was placed on the slips in Lyttelton and it was found slight damage had been done to a plate amidships. Minor repairs will be carried out before the vessel sails on Thursday.
