Some phenomenal grain yields are reported from Marlborough. Barley crops up to 80 bushels per acre have been reported and the average is expected to be 50 bushels, compared with about 30 last year. One farmer has threshed 70 acres with a yield of 60 bushels to the acre, worth 5/6 per bushel in store at Blenheim.
