KILLED NINE WOMEN
DESPERATE CRIMINAL AT LARGE. SPECIALISED IN LANDLADIES. New York, November 30. The police on the Pacific Coast are widely searching for a strange man, who is alleged to have killed nine women, five of them in San Francisco, during the present summer. He was in the habit of renting rooms in cheap boarding-houses, killing the landladies and then robbing the bodies and the houses. Detectives suspect that the same man is responsible for the deaths of other women in Portland, Stockton, and Oakland, under similiar conditions.—Sun Cable.
