ST. PETER’S CHURCH

SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR, Yesterday the annual bazaar of the Junior Christian Endeavour of St. Peter’s Methodist Church was held in the Sunday School Hall in Earn street. The bazaar had been arranged by Mies Hall and the proceeds were given in aid of Foreign Missions. At 2.30 p.m. it was opened by Dr. James and Mr Metcalfe, a missionary from the Solomon Islands. The weather was very unsettled, but in spite of this large crowds were present both during the afternoon and evening. An orchestra was in attendance during the evening and rendered many enjoyable selections. The following were the stallholders: Work stall, Misses Hall, Holland, McAra; flower stall, Misses Cushen, Thompson; cake stall, Young Women’s Bible Class; sweet stall, members of the Junior Bible Gass; soft drinks, Miss Hall; produce stall, Misses Brown and Patton; mysterious flower garden, Misses G. Hall, M. Holland; fish pond, Miss E. Robb; tea rooms, Mesdames Patton and Robb.
