HOUDINI DEAD
WORLD FAMOUS MAGICIAN. Detroit, October 31. Harry Houdini, the world famous magician is dead, aged 52.—A. and N.Z. Houdini was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, in 1874, the son of the Rev. Dr. Mayer Samuel. His name was legally changed to Houdini. He began as a trajieze performer in 1882 and made several tours of the world, performing before many rulers and notables. He was awarded a prize by the Australian Aeronautical League in 1910 as being the first successful flier in Australia. He is the author of several books dealing with his profession, including “The Right Way to do Wrong,” and “Handcuff Secrets.”
