WEDDING BELLS

SMALL—LUSH.

A wedding in which much interest was taken was that of Mr A. G. Small and Mias L. Lush, both of Lumsden, on the 13th inst. Many friends and well-wishers assembled at Holy Trinity Church, Gore, which was nicely decorated by friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lawrence, of Lumsden, and Miss Steans presided at the organ, playing suitable music. The bride was escorted by her brother, Mr T. G. Lush, who afterwards gave her away. She wore a dainty frock of champagne georgette and silver, with silver shoes and stockings. Her tulle veil, worn mob-cap style, was circled by a wreath of orange blossom buds, and her bouquet of arum lilies and palest pink carnations toned prettily with her frock. Miss Annie Kingdon, of Gore, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of forget-me-not blue crepe-de-chene with apron of champagne lace and floral picture hat, shoes and stockings and bouquet to match. The duties of best man' were capably carried out by Mr Maurice Reidy, Lumsden. Following the ceremony, the guests, numbering 50, were entertained at breakfast at Milne’s Tea Rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. The Rev. Lawrence again presided. Numerous presents and congratulatory telegrams were received, and Mrs F. Crosbie, Mossburn, sweetly sang a solo. The bride received a gold expanding wristlet watch, and the bridesmaid a ring, the bride’s gift to the groom being a gold albert, and to the best man a gold-mounted fountain pen. Later Mr and Mrs A. G. Small left by the afternoon express for Christchurch and the West Coast, the bride travelling in a periwinkle blue ensemble suit with boas de rose hat.
