GORE CELTIC CLUB. (From Our Correspondent.) At a meeting of the recently formed Celtic Cricket Club held on Thursday evening the president (Mr W. L. McGoldrick) presided over a fair attendance of members. Mr P. Mallon, who had been appointed to purchase the necessary material, reported that he had bought a set of wickets, two bats, a net, gloves and balls. He had obtained quotations for matting, but thought- that the question of purchasing this should be left to the club.—lt was decided to defer the matter for further ( consideration. The following were appointed a Grounds (Committee: Messrs J. J. Dooley, G. J. R. j Ainge, H. C. Martin, J. and P. Mallon ! and Father Lennon. 1 The following were also appointed as additional members to the General Committee : 1 Messrs G. J. R. Ainge and D. O’Neill. Mr P. Mallon was appointed to act as delegate to the Eastern District Cricket Association. i Father Lennon moved that the club enter the competition. This met with general ! approval, and after some desultory discussion it was agreed that the competition 1 should embrace the Pukerau, Gore, Wyndi ham, Mataura and ’Koi teams, which would ( mean that seven teams would be engaged. ; The delegate of the club was instructed to (support this suggestion at the E.D.S.U. meet--1 ing, and, further, that should the first round !be completed within a reasonable time a second round be played.
