MINERS’ SPORTS. (From Our Correspondent.) The annual sports, held under the auspices of the Miners’ Union, were held on Labour Day, the ground being kindly lent for the occasion by Mr W. Excell. Good weather was experienced, and a large number of spectators assembled to witness the various events. The proceedings during the afternoon were greatly enlivened by the presence of members of the Brass Band, a fine programme being given. The committee Is to be complimented on the excellence of the arrangements. The’r thinks are also due to those who gave donations and trophies, and also to the oand me..ioers who contributed so much towards the success of the gathering.
