UNION v. LUMSDEN. WIN FOR VISITING TEAM. A team from the Union Cricket Club travelled to Lumsden yesterday and had an enjoyable game with the country eleven. Lumsden Domain is in tip-top order now, with the football, hockey, and cricket areas in a well-sheltered ground. An up-to-date pavilion has been erected. The pitch is a concrete one, and the outfield in good order. A very enjoyable day spent, Union winning by 34 runs in the first innings. In Lumsden’s first innings they put on 100, Ogilvy 39, being the principal scorer. In the second visit to the crease Lumsden compiled 148, Lansdell 40, Ogilvy 27, Lynch 26 and Richards 15 playing well. Union’s innings realised 134—Cox 19, Kilby 13, Hunt 43, Oughton 18, and Johns 13 carrying the brunt of the attack. At the conclusion Of the match the visitors were hospitably entertained by the Lumsden people.
