The Chief of the Imperial Staff, General Milne, has approved of the appointment of an Australian, Colonel W. J. Foster, to the command of the Second Cavalry Brigade, located at Ddworth Barracks, Salisbury Plain, denoting the inception of a scheme by which it is hoped to lead to uniformity in the training of forces throughout the Empire and marking an important step in the effort to co-ordinate Imperial defence. Colonel Foster commences his duties in April, retaining command throughout the 1927 training season. —A. and N.Z.
