TWO MEN INJURED

• FALL OF COAL. MINE ACCIDENT AT NIGHTCAPS. A fall of coal at the Black Diamond mine, Nightcaps, on Saturday morning resulted in serious injuries to two men, Messrs. George Tinker, managing director of the mine and Moseley. They had not long commenced work when about three tons of coal fell on them from a height of fifteen feet. Mr Moseley had his legs severely crushed while Mr Tinker received a nasty cut on the back of his head, a cut above the eye and extensive bruises. The injured men were attended to by a doctor and Mr Tinker was later conveyed to a private hospital in Invercargill. Though his injuries are both painful and serious, it is expected that he will recover.
