A GREAT DAY! FREE PURCHASES AT SMITH’S! WANTED A PRIZE-WINNER! Free purchases—gifts from Smith’s to their customers! This wonderful event drew hundreds of shoppers to the Progressive Stores yesterday. Seldom indeed has such a scene of enthusiasm been witnessed in a Retail Store. Every few minutes the bell rang, and a customer received his or her purchase money back—a free purchase! One customer —a lady—bought two bows at 1/11 each. It was a free purchase, but when the sales girl went to inform the customer of this, she had already gone. The incident took place between eleven and twelve—if the lady will call at the Fancy Section, she will have her purchase money refunded—A free Gift. There are only two more days of this free purchase event—-to-day and Saturday. Come at once to H. & J. Smith, Ltd., either Invercargill or Gore.—(Advt.)
