DINGHY CAPSIZES
MAN DROWNED. TRAGEDY NEAR AUCKLAND. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, September 3. William Frederick Jones, aged 47, was drowned this afternoon in the Whau Creek, New Lynn, through the capsizing of a seven-foot dinghy which was being used for the first time.
His brother, Herbert Jones, clung to the overturned boat and was pluckily rescued by Oswald McMillan. William Jones intended to sail for Sydney by the Marama to-morrow, but subsequently changed his mind and visited his brother instead. .
