MR BRUCE SERVED WITH WRIT. EVE OF DEPARATURE FOR LONDON. Adelaide, September 3. As Mr Bruce was entering the Port Adelaide town hall prior to embarking on the steamer Mooltan for London a private detective, acting on behalf of a firm of solicitors, served upon him a writ. It is understood to be for £5OOO in connection with a claim for damages for alleged slander instituted by Mr Seale, secretary of the Sydney branch of the Watersiders’ Union. —A. & N.Z.
