SOVIET TREATY
RUMANIA NEGOTIATING.
SECURITY OF EASTERN FRONTIERS.
(Rec. 8.20 p.m.) Bucharest, September 3.
The Government has sent a Note to the Soviet proposing a ten years’ non-aggression treaty, also preserving the peace on the Eastern frontiers. Russia so far has not replied, but Rumanian diplomats believe she will agree, because the treaty does not entail Russia’s acquiescence in the Rumanian annexation of Bessarabia.—A. & N.Z.
