DAIRY PRODUCE

ECONOMIC COMMITTEES REPORT. PRESS COMMENT. (Rec. 9.15 pjn.) London, September 3. The Times, commenting on the Empire Economic Committee’s dairying report says, “It is incumbent on the various parts of the British Empire immediately to take up the question of how best to ensure the future of the industry against the pressure of foreign countries with low wages and a low standard of living. There is no escape from the committee’s conclusion that the Empire producer must discover and adopt more efficient and cheaper methods of production.”

The Financial Times states, “'While the Empire proportion of the dairying trade is good, it is capable of expansion. Tie problem is to increase output without increasing cost.”—A. and N.Z.
