RUM RUNNER CAUGHT

LADEN WITH LIQUOR. CREW ARRESTED. Ottawa, August 2. A telegram from St. John, New Brunswick, says that, laden with liquor estimated to be worth 300,000 dollars, the Nova Scotia fishing schooner Granite was towed into port by Government patrol boats on Monday. The captain, supercargo, and five seamen were arrested. The Granite was seized outside the threemile limit. A charge was laid on the ground that liquor, valued at 40,000 dollars, was delivered to a West St. John resident a mile and fehatf off shore last weeiu—Reuter.
