AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FARMERS OF SOUTHLAND. Dear Sirs, It has come to our knowledge that canvassers for a certain manure are exhibiting to farmers an alleged analysis attempting to show that their product is as good or slightly better than Ephos. We feel flattered that they have singled out Ephos as a standard to attain to, and this very fact should convince the thinking farmer that Ephos holds pride of place amongst phosphatic manures. If you desire it we can show you glowing reports on Ephos by Agricultural Chemists of repute whose statements are backed by careful analysis and experiment. However, we content ourselves by referring you to the satisfied users who have put hundreds of pounds into their pockets by the use of Ephos for top-dressing and for turnips. A shipment will arrive at Bluff about the middle of August, and we shall be glad to book your requirements for ex-ship delivery. Ephos can be obtained from your own merchant. Small quantities are still available ex Store. MURRAY ROBERTS & CO., LTD. Invercargill, June 19, 1926.
Airmen reaching London lately on a foggy day said the smoke pall over the city looked like a gigantic umbrella, shutting out the sun.
