GIRDLESTONE PEAK
AN ASCENT MADE. (Per United Press Association.) Taumarunui, Apr. 6. Yesterday M. J. Galvin and J. Cole ascended the Girdlestone Peak in the National Park and inspected the tablet erected there some four years ago to the memory of Herbert Earle Girdlestone, a well-known surveyor of the Lands Department, who was killed during the war. They report the tablet to be in perfect condition and the climbing good.
