DYSENTERY

A NOTIFIABLE DISEASE. Recently it has come to the notice of the Department of Health that in a certain northern district a considerable number of cases of dysentery have occurred. The Department has considered it desirable to make the disease notifiable, for the present at any rate, as it is highly infectious. Therefore this week’s Gazette contains an announcement that dysentery (amoebic and bacillary) is a notifiable infectious disease within the meaning of the Health Act.
