ANGLO-IRAQ TREATY
OPPOSITION EXPLAINED. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) BAGDAD, January 19. The opposition of the Left Chamber is understood as a protest against the brief period permitted for study of the terms of the Treaty, which was only revealed the previous day.
King Feisul, in a speech to the Deputies, said that although the Treaty was nominally for twenty-five years, many of its terms could be modified when Iraq was a member of the League of Nations.
