WIDOWS’ PENSIONS
BILL IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SCHEME TO COST £500,000. (By Telegraph—Press Aran.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, November 27. The Assembly read for the first time the Widows’ Pensions Bill, which provides that a widow with one or more dependent children shall receive £1 weekly and 10/weekly for each child under the age of 14 years. The scheme is estimated to cost £500,000 per annum.
