THE COMMUNIST PROSECUTIONS. JUDGE’S SIGNIFICANT COMMENT, (By Telegraph—Press Assn.— (Reuter’s Telegrams.) LONDON, November 26. Imprisonment of virtually the whole of the Communist Executive will conceivably not be the end of the Party’s discomfiture, since justification for further proceedings may be regarded as being embodied in a agnificant phrase used by the Judge in sentencing the defendants: “You axu members of an illegal Party carrying cia illegal work. The convictions are the leading- topic in all the newspapers. Many applaud the prosecutions as providing a healthy warning and none questions the legal justice of the convictions, though some opposition commentators doubt the wisdom of driving subversive activities underground.
