MASTER RESIGNS

A MATTER'OF POLICY. DISAGREEMENT WITH PRINCIPAL. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 25. As an outcome, it is said, of a disagreement with the headmaster (Rev. E. C. Crosse) a well known member of the teaching staff of Christ’s College, Mr J. G. Denniston, has handed in his resignation to the Board of Governors. It is stated that the trouble which has arisen and which concerns a question of policy formed the subject of a meeting of masters at which an attitude was taken up that was critical of Mr Crosse. Mr Denniston, who is a son of the late Sir John Denniston, had a distinguished career as a pupil at the College. He held a commission in King Edward’s Horse in the War, and graduated as a Master of Arts at Cambridge University, being a barrister at law of the Inner Temple, London.
