FORTY-FOUR-HOUR WEEK. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) PERTH, October 24. In the Assembly, in moving the second reading of the Bill to provide for a forty-four-hour week in all industries, the Minister for Labour said it would apply to agricultural workers by the spread of eighty-eight hours over a fortnight. The Arbitration Court would have power to prohibit overtime in any industry if it thought there was such unemployment as would warrant prohibition.
