OPERATIONS OVER

THE MOROCCAN CAMPAIGN PREMATURE RAINS INTERRUPT OFFENSIVE TROOPS RETURNING TO BASES. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) PARIS, October 22. Hava’s correspondent in Morocco telegraphs from Rabat that active operations may now be regarded as over. The Franco-Spanish troops are returning to winter bases. Premature rains interrupted the offensives, which were developing with great success, rendering roads and rivers impassable. A contingent sent out temporarily to participate in the offensive will return to France, leaving sufficient forces in Morocco to ensure the defence of the frontier. REPORT DENIED. PARIS, October 22. A report from Tetuan that Abdel Krim’s Foreign Minister was fired from a gun is baseless. Mohana Zerkane is in excellent health and is Abdel Krim’s confidential adviser.
