(Received October 23, 725 p.m.) Viscount Torrington was found not guilty. He gave evidence that he believed the cheque would be met by a lady friend. Yiscount Torrington was arrested at Yalding, Kent, on a charge of offering a worthless cheque at a Nottingham Bank. He married a Gaiety actress, but divorced her in 1921. His bankruptcy in 1919 included a debt of £lO,OOO to his first wife. Torrington was released on bail until October 9. As the offence is a misdemeanour, he will be treated as a commoner, trial before the House of Lords being reserved for felony.
