COUNTIES AND EXHIBITION.
To the Editor. Sir, —I have been directed by my council to inform you that your statement in your leader of the 12th instant in respect of this council’s quota towards the Southland Court in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition, is not correct. When Mr Winsloe waited on my council for a donation the amount stated by him as being our portion towards the cost of the court was granted without demur. It is a pity you were not informed of this fact before writing your leader.—l am, etc., G. B. BURNS, County Clerk.
