A FALSE ALARM

THE FUSION QUESTION NEGOTIATIONS STILL IN PROGRESS (Our Parliamentary Reporter). ; WELLINGTON, July 8. It is expected that the division on the No-Confidence Motion on the Address-in-Reply debate will be taken immediately after the supper adjournment to-morrow night. Present indications are that two Labour i members will speak and one Government ■ member and the division will follow. j The report that the fusion negotiations had definitely broken down, published in to-night’s Post, are not confirmed, the Prime Minister, on being interviewed, stating that he had nothing to say. He said that he had no knowledge of the origin of the report. It is generally assumed in the lobbies that the report emanated from the Liberal side of the House, although I not credited to any Party or member.
