FUSION OF PARTIES

VIEWS OF SIR HEATON RHODES. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 15. Recently Sir Heaton Rhodes, who holds office in the Coates Ministry, was reported as haring expressed an opinion in favour of fusion. “I have not,” said Sir Heaton to-day, “stated my views with regard to fusion. What I did say, was that the papers would lead one to suppose that the Reformers were in favour of fusion, the Liberals were in favour of fusion, and the Labour Party was in favour of fusion. I did not ,say I was personally in favour of it. We do not know what is in the mind of the Liberal Party, and the Reformers will not say what is in their minds until they know the minds of the Liberals.
