UNION MOVEMENT SUCCESSFUL. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Reuter’s Telegram.) OTTAWA, June 10. Dr S. D. Chown, general superintendent of the Methodist Church, before 8000 persons, to-day declared that the “Presbyterian Church in Canada, the Congregational Churches of Canada, and the Methodist Church, along with the Council of the local Union of Churches, are now united and constituted as one church, to be designated the United Church of Canada.” Principal D. L. Ritchie, at the first General Council meeting, said: “To-day Canada gives a lead to Protestantism all over the world.”
