TOTAL PROHIBITION

AIM OF NEW SOUTH WALES ALLIANCE. SYONEY, May 15. The New South Wales Alliance has dis cided to change its name to that of the New South Wales Prohibition Alliance. The annual report showed that the drink bill of the State last year was £11,349,000, or £5 2s 8d per head of population—an increase over the previous year of £295,000. The arrests for drunkenness also show an increase. In view of these facte, it is claimed that satisfactory regulation for the restriction of the drink traffic is unthinkable, and the only course is to fight for total Prohibition; whence the change of name.
