SHIPBUILDING
CONTINENTAL TENDERS LOWER THAN BRITISH. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright ) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.! LONDON, April 30. (Received April 30 7.15 p.m.) The Blue Star Line has received tenders for the construction of eight 12,000 ton refrigerated meat ships from British, Dutch and German shipbuilders. The Shipbuilding and Shipping Record understands that the lowest continental price is £lB,OOO to £20.000 per steamer below the British tender, but efforts are being made to retain the contracts here.
